Dr. Jenna Teso, DBH, LCSW

Dr. Jenna Teso is the President of Rising Moon Therapeutic Services, LLC.  Dr. Teso obtained her Doctorate in Behavioral Health from Arizona State University in 2015 and her Master’s in Social Work in 2011, also from Arizona State University.  She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist.  Additionally, she is certified to provide Heartmath interventions, which utilize biofeedback and are helpful in addressing a variety of issues.  

Dr. Teso has experience providing clinical services in a variety of settings, including hospitals, hospice, community mental health, crisis services, schools, and juvenile detention.  Dr. Teso’s special interests include working with children, adolescents, and young adults coping with chronic health issues, grief and loss, and trauma.

Dr. Teso’s treatment approach is strengths-based and integrative in nature.  She values gratitude, joy, and balance and incorporates this into her practice whenever possible.  She believes strongly in client self-determination and that we each have strong and effective tools for change within us.  In addition to her mental health experience, Dr. Teso is a Reiki Master Teacher. Reiki is an energetic healing modality that can result in stress relief, relaxation, and serve as a complement in treating physical complaints.  In fact, over 800 hospitals in the United States are now utilizing reiki practitioners as an adjunct to medical interventions.

 

Anita Miller, LMSW

Anita has extensive experience in grief counseling. For many years she worked in both a hospice and an outpatient medical setting, counseling patients and family caregivers. She has also worked with survivors of rape and sexual abuse.

Together, Anita works with clients to identify the sources of their discomfort. You will work to find clarity, and develop a roadmap for your work together. Therapy with Anita will focus on your strengths, and will help you gain the skills you need to become an advocate for yourself.

Anita believes you will feel better when you have a safe place to express your feelings and confront your fears. With the right support, you can approach your challenges with creativity, a touch of humor, and more trust. Her goal is to be fully present with you, and to be your touchstone through this process, so you can be your own best resource for healing.

Christine Duffy, LAC

Christine believes that the best approach to counseling is through open dialogue and exploring what works best for you. Throughout your sessions you will work together to explore unresolved issues from your past, current life stressors and how to move forward to become your best self. Throughout her counseling career Christine has had the opportunity to work with a culturally, socially and economically diverse clientele. She has worked with clients facing various struggles including codependency, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, traumatic brain injuries, grief and loss. Whether it is the loss of a loved one or loss of function or mobility we will explore coping tools to find what is the most beneficial for you. Christine works together to implement a treatment plan to assist you in accomplishing a happier, healthier life.

Gabriel Lopez, LMSW

Gabriel is a Licensed Master Social Worker who earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from New Mexico State University in 1996, then a Master’s in Social Work from Arizona State University in 2006. He has over 20 years of experience working with children and families.

Gabriel is trained in Individual, Family, and Group therapies. He utilizes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy techniques, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Play Therapy. He has used Sand Tray Therapy in working with toddlers and youth to increase their comfort level and safely improve their natural communication skills.

Gabriel greatly enjoys working with children, families, and individuals and values building the therapeutic relationship. He believes that we all make an impact on each other and that everyone has the ability to become more self-aware in order to decrease life stressors and increase effective communication to ultimately find a balance within themselves.
